UFO Show - Unidentified Flying Objects
UFOs tend to be relegated today to the supermarket check out tabloids. Laughed away.
However, since the classic UFO sightings of 1947, when the name 'flying saucers' was coined,
a large body of serious investigative studies and case databases has grown up.
While surveys report that many cases are due to confusion about known phenomena
(stars, meteors, satellites, planes, etc.), there remains a sizable core of UFO sightings
that are well documented but defy being explained, or explained away, by current
science and technology.
For example, aerial objects are seen by numerous reliable independent witnesses
and also tracked on radar. The object may hover awhile, then suddenly shoot off
at tremendous speed and perhaps make instantaneous turns and maneuvers
at high speed. Feats that no known human craft could manage. Some of the most
common current ideas about UFOs (besides total denial) are:
1. The craft/beings are from outer space. They are using 'nuts and bolts spacecraft'
exhibiting advanced science and technology.
2. Besides (1), at least some UFOs and UFO related activities are secret
hi tech government craft and related to secret projects.
3. Some or all of (1) are the work of terrestrial or inner/other dimensional beings
that through history have appeared to humans. E.g. angels, fairies.
These beings are said to be 'shapeshifters' and can appear in a manner that is acceptable
to a given age. If today many people don't believe in angels or fairies, or chariots of fire,
they do however believe in spacemen and spacecraft.
What is going on? The amount of interest in the subject and the vigor in the attempt to debunk
it away seems to itself imply that the phenomenon is real. Where there is smoke there is fire.
The show explores all these issues and points out some of the better sources of information.
So you can decide for yourself about it all. We also hope you will call in and report any of your
own UFO experiences.
Books mentioned on the show:
Steven M. Greer, M.D., Disclosure: military and government witnesses reveal the greatest secrets in modern history, 2001. Publishes transcripts of video taped public testimony about what the US government knows about UFOs, and keeps secret. Chapters include cases involving radar/pilots, Strategic Air Command and nuclear facilities, NASA, and classified technology projects. See also the Project Disclosure website listed below.
Timothy Good, Above Top Secret: the worldwide UFO cover-up, 1987 Documents world government involvement in the UFO phenomenon by publishing official documents, some once classified, and many obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests.Covers USA and Canada, Europe, Australia, China, Russia.
Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia: on UFOs, Folklore, and Parallel Worlds, 1969.
French astronomer and computer scientist now living in the U.S.A.
Was the first to do a historical survey of the UFO phenomenon, going back thousands of years,
and pointing out a parallel with the characters and stories of the world's folklore.
Especially reports of the behavior of fairies, who are for example said to trick and deceive
and abduct humans, as in current cases of abduction by aliens.
John Michael Greer, Monsters: an investigator's guide to magical beings, 2001.
Contains a chapter, Creatures of Faery, that explores further the parallels between fairies and
modern UFO alien reports

SUMMARY of Episode 24
"Catastrophe Theories and 2012 Show"

Episode 24 Catastrophe Theories and 2012 Show
Catastrophe theories deal with end-of-the-world or end-of-civilization scenarios.
They are theories to account for or predict catastrophes. Either in the past
(e.g. the biblical Deluge that appears in most world mythologies and seems to have
some physical basis) or in the future (e.g. the Y2K Millennium phenomenon or the 2012
end of Mayan calendar predictions). In the show we went over various assertions about what
could cause a catastrophe and its likelihood. We noted that many of the predictions seem
unlikely, are often mutually contradictory, or some may be put out by those who are mostly
trying to propagate fear, panic, and thereby justify tightening up societal control.
This program focused especially on the December 21, 2012 end date of the Mayan calendar.
Many are predicting some fundamental change on or around this date.
Predictions stem from the end of the Mayan calendar, as well as native American prophesies
(e.g. Hopi) and other world age/cycle ideas (e.g. Vedic Kali Yuga, 25,800 year precession cycle).
We looked at the comprehensive survey of views provided in Geoff Stray's book on 2012.
While the book finds no clear consensus on what is likely to happen in 2012,
it contains graphs showing empirical evidence for a rise in solar activity
since the Maunder minimum in the late 17th century and a rise in seismic activity since 1973.
The earth's magnetic field has also been decreasing. And the Solar System is crossing
the equatorial plane of our galaxy in 1980-2016. Some see these as reason for a possible
future energetic/electromagnetic event, earth crustal shift, and/or magnetic pole shift
with disruptive effects. The show explores all these issues and points out some of the
better sources of information. So you can decide for yourself about it all.
Interest in this topic is likely to accelerate as we near the year 2012.
We welcome comments and call ins.

SUMMARY of Episode 25
"Conspiracy Theories and Secret Societies Show"

Episode 25 Conspiracy Theories and Secret Societies Show
Conspiracy theories imply that things are not necessarily what they appear to be. They attempt to explain events by looking for hidden actors and factors. While the term is often taken in a purely negative sense, implying something like 'paranoia' to be disregarded, it may also be understood positively as a type of healthy skepticism or a 'contrarian', alternative view of things. Secret societies are often implicated in conspiracy theories. They may be secret to protect members or their knowledge from use and abuse from others (defensive), or to conceal information or persons acting on it in order to carry out some secret course of action (offensive; carrying out a conspiracy).
In the show as an example we went over a historical conspiracy theory which is largely unknown today but has some reliable documentation: the Business Plot of 1933. This was a conspiracy involving several wealthy businessmen to overthrow U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and thereby undo his New Deal policies which they found threatening to their interests. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler testified before Congress in 1934 that he was approached by a group of men representing leading industrialists and offered money to lead to Washington in a protest a group of 500,000 disgruntled World War I veterans wanting immediate payment of their promised war bonuses.
This was expected to put pressure on the government and lead to his appointment as 'secretary of general affairs', and thus supplant Roosevelt as the real power in the administration. General Butler however declined and instead reported the matter to Congress, which formed a committee to investigate. The committee did conduct hearings but ended without pursuing the matter very far, and the incident was largely written off and forgotten. Butler had become disillusioned by U.S. 'gunboat diplomacy' and interventions around the world before World War I, and then by that war, and went on in the 1930s to become an anti-war general. His 1935 book, War is a Racket, was an early expose of what is now known as the military industrial complex. That military spending and war is largely driven by business considerations rather than by the true national interests of citizens in general.
We briefly discussed an exclusive club of leading politicians and industrialists, presidents and CEOs, the Bohemian Club of San Francisco, which has an annual summer campout together at Bohemian Grove said to feature policy discussions and deal-making. Entrance and membership are restricted, The proceedings are off the record and are alleged to include pagan magic and possibly satanic rituals.
We went on to discuss briefly another couple of secret societies that are widely known. The Rosicrucians of the early 17th century in Europe were a secret group that issued anonymous manifestos that propagated doctrines stemming from alchemy, hermeticism, magic, and what is generally known as the western mystery tradition. One of the fathers of modern science, Francis Bacon, is sometimes linked to the Rosicrucians with his utopian work The New Atlantis that explores the societal implications of the new science. We mentioned briefly another secret group, the Illuminati, founded in Bavaria, Germany at the end of the 18th century. This group was opposed to old European society and in favor of revolution such as found expression later in France. The term is still used for a secret group alleged to be behind the scenes even today, which pushes for a world state along the lines of what has recently been called The New World Order.
The show explores all these issues and points out some of the better sources of information.
So you can decide for yourself about it all.
